Plesk Nameserver setup guide
This can apply easily to Plesk 11. Please follow the exact instructions below:
Step 1) Log into Plesk at and go to the Websites & Domains tab.
Step 2) Click DNS settings, then click Manage for the domain you want to be the nameserver, in this example we will call it nameserverdomain.co.uk. Set up the below DNS records:
ns.nameserverdomain.co.uk. A 37.122.211.29 ns2.nameserverdomain.co.uk. A 37.122.211.29 nameserverdomain.co.uk. NS ns.nameserverdomain.co.uk. nameserverdomain.co.uk. NS ns2.nameserverdomaine.co.uk.
Go back to the Websites & Domains tab.
Step 3) Then, click DNS settings, then click Manage for the domain you want to set nameservers for.
Within here tick the DNS record ns.currentdomain.co.uk.
Then click Remove.
Step 4) Then click the NS record that says:
currentdomain.co.uk. NS ns.currentdomain.co.uk.
And edit this so it says:
Record Type: NS Domain Name: Leave blank Name server: ns.nameserverdomain.co.uk (instead of ns.currentdomain.co.uk.)
Click OK.
Step 5) Then click Add Record at the top.
Record Type: NS Domain Name: Leave blank Name server: ns2.nameserverdomain.co.uk
Click OK.
Step a) Then go into the DNS settings for each domain by going to Websites & Domains > DNs Settings and doing the below:
click the NS record that says:
domain.co.uk. NS ns.domain.co.uk.
And edit this so it says:
Record Type: NS Domain Name: Leave blank Name server: ns1.nameserverdomain.co.uk (instead of ns.currentdomain.co.uk.)
Click OK.
Step b) Then click Add Record at the top.
Record Type: NS Domain Name: Leave blank Name server: ns2.nameserverdomain.co.uk
Then, within your 123-reg control panel (or the domain registrars), click Change Nameservers and set each domain's nameserver to be ns1.nameserverdomain.co.uk and ns2.nameserverdomain.co.uk
It will ask for an IP address, so put in server address/host/IP address which is in the numbered format 123.45.67.0
An alternate solution is to simply use the domain registrar nameservers and not do the above.
